IMF Retirees Privileges

The resources licensed by the IMF Library are exclusively for the Fund’s work. However, retirees residing in the D.C. areas

  • are granted access to the IMF Library facility and its print collections, including borrowing privileges for print materials.
  • can use the Library’s IT equipment (printer, workstations, and public catalog) to support their research and information needs.

The retirees are restricted from accessing electronic resources and data subscriptions in compliance with the Fund’s copyright policy and contractual obligations

  • In exceptional cases, an active staff member may be authorized to share specific licensed datasets or reports with a retiree with whom they are co-authoring an IMF’s piece of work. This data sharing is strictly confined to selected database services that allow such collaboration.
  • Returning retirees or senior staff working as IMF consultants or advisors maintain access to most library resources by virtue of their roles during the time they are being employed.
